New Zealand resumed Permanent Resident Visa applications

From 27 November 2020, Immigration New Zealand has resumed processing of Permanent Resident Visa applications, including where the principal applicant is currently offshore. Certain changes have been made by the New Zealand Government in keeping with the Epidemic Management Notice that has been in effect since April 2, 2020.

This is very welcome news for many resident visa holders who were eligible for their PRV but were caught offshore and were previously unable to have their PRV processed.

Every country is different. Each has its own laws, rules and ways of doing things. The people, even if they speak the same language as you, have their own accent and their own everyday language.
Hearing stories from other migrants will help you to make sense of your experiences, and as you get more involved in New Zealand life and the community, you will be able to tell your own stories.

Residence applications whereby the person are already in New Zealand are going to be given priority over those applications during which the applicant is overseas. Among the New Zealand temporary visa applications, priority is to lean to applications for temporary visa candidates that are already in New Zealand and important staff that are required for supporting the govt response to COVID-19. INZ encourages applicants to use on-line for eligible visas as paper applications can take a extended time because of the reduction of staff in their onshore offices.

On a temporary basis, the Government of New Zealand has decided to relax visa conditions for a short period of time in order to allow international students and temporary migrant workers to assist with essential services during COVID-19.
